Abstract:

Since China adopted the reform and opening-up policies, vegetable industry has maintained a relatively rapid development, from short supply to ample supply, and the vegetable market system has been gradually improved. Nevertheless, there are still some problems such as high price fluctuation and unstable income of vegetable grower and so on. The authors pointed out that rise in the price of means of agricultural productions, increase in the cost of rural labor, production structure of smallholder production and decentralized management, backward production technology and low value-added products were the main factors which caused the instability of farmers' income. Based on analyzing the reasons of changes in the cost and benefit of planting vegetable, relevant ideas were put forward for promoting the reform of the vegetable industry and increasing the income of vegetable grower.
